Mom’s Easy Feather Rolls

1-1/8 cup scalded milk (cooled)or 1-1/8 cup hot water & 1-1/4 cup powdered milk
1/3 cup melted butter/margarine
1/3 cup sugar--2 eggs--1 teas salt
4 cups flour


In mixer bowl add and beat well milk-butter-salt-eggs-sugar
Add 1 cup flour Beat Well
Add 1 1/2 TBLS Yeast beat well
Add remaining 3 cups flour
1 at a time beating well after each cup

Mixture will be sticky-Put dough in the refrigerator overnight covered.
2 hours before ready to use. Take out of fridge and place on floured counter-top, pat gently and turn over so both sides are floured and easy to roll out in a circle-about 1/2 inch thick
Spread melted butter on top Roll up like jelly roll. Cut with thread about 3/4 inch thickness and place in oiled muffin pans and let raise double
Bake 375 10 minutes You can speed up rising by placing in 150 degree oven for a 10 minutes or until doubled

Orange rolls- Substitute 1/2the milk with orange juice and grate orange zest in dough and putting on zest on rolled out dough- you can mix dough in AM and refrigerate and roll out after 6 hours-dab
