Chicken Tortilla Soup

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups water (may use chicken broth however, cut salt)
2 TBSP sugar
3 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp oregano
1 (4oz) can diced green chilies
2 cups cooked chicken cut into bite size pieces


Combine in large sauce pan. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 30 minutes.
Serve with:
sour cream
chopped avocado
sliced olives
shredded cheddar cheese
tortilla chips
